Since its launch in August 1999, OLG has become the single largest Internet-only Golf Company in Europe. Its products
are evaluated and tested to ensure their high quality, and their experienced team is always on hand to offer advice.
The brief
OLG approached M.A.D with a clear brief: build the best looking transactional site on the web on a platform that
would be able to support the single largest online retailer in golfing equipment in the UK AND that would scale to
support the European market.
Objective
The site had to be easy to navigate, utilise proven buying processes at its core and provide targeted, relevant
search on a huge range of products. If the site was to compete, it would have to deliver in line with an ambitious
commercial strategy and would need to be delivered on a single platform.
Solution
M.A.D designed a site that has, since its launch, undergone a number of changes to its look and feel. It has,
however, always retained its design integrity and remains a great looking site today. Products are logically grouped
to make searching effortless and to include 'customer reviews', coupled with an A'star rating according to Satisfaction,
Quality, Distance, Forgiveness and Value for Money. Selected products have accompanying 'video show reels' featuring
the world's top golfing professionals.
Other features include, Gift selector, Advice on buying golfing equipment and numerous special offer solutions to
promote product.

Essentially, customers are awarded points for everything they buy on the site, which promotes repeat visit and
secures retention, resulting in increased sales."

Result
At M.A.D we like to attribute the success of Online Golf to three basic principles of e-commerce:
- Ensure the buying process is easy and the decision points clear.
- Always maintain a maximum three clicks or less to the product.
- Content has to be compelling, targeted and above all relevant to the individual.
It's clear that the site has grown into a real success story and delivers the kind of growth other sites in the
golfing world can only dream of. The team at M.A.D knew the site would be a success, and this has proven to be the case
year after year, continuing to attract visitors and convert them into customers in even greater numbers.
